Musseque
“Musseque”, before being a piece for four dancers, is a home, an encounter, a being. It's where they left a long time ago and where they return to in memory and in body through Kuduro. The bodies are asked for rhythm, precision and resistance so that, in the turbulence of a war, a piece of freedom can be found. During the Angolan Civil War, Kuduro was music and dance that was marginalized by many, but loved by the people. The four performers on stage are now being asked to continue what was lived and felt, turning past experiences into a dance of the present, but not forgotten. On this stage, they revisit the peripheries of Luanda that are home, the speeches that are revolution and the bodies that are resistance, in a breakneck rhythm of movements that are the resilience of those who continue beyond the war.
“Musseque”, de Fábio Januário, é um dos projetos vencedores da 2ª edição do Projeto CASA, uma iniciativa promovida pel'A Oficina/Centro Cultural Vila Flor, O Espaço do Tempo e o Cineteatro Louletano.
