Baby showers are one of the rituals that best suggest the idea of representation. In them, we do more than give gifts: we offer a name, determine family roles and responsibilities, and celebrate fertility as a form of future-oriented repetition. Except for the rest of the entertainment, it is not much different from what we have been doing for several millennia. From an early age, we become accustomed to the violence of representation and demand that our fiction perpetuates it. For this show, we found a child: Dick Steeves, and invited the Philharmonia das Beiras Orchestra to accompany him.
